practice Nurses
PRACTICE NURSESJayne Bevis - has been in the practice a very long time and is well known to the patients of Robert Frew. She has a special interest in the management of minor trauma, wounds, ulcers and is our lead nurse for minor-op procedures. She also runs the wart clinic for treatment with liquid nitrogen cryotherapy. Jacqueline Dobson - joined us in 2005 and is a great asset to the practice providing nursing duties including childhood vaccinations, smears, ECGs and assists in minor-op procedures. She has also completed a Diploma in Asthma Management. Bernadette Spires - joined us in 2006 and is a great asset to the practice being involved in all general nursing duties including taking smears, immunizations and performing ECGs. She also assists in minor-op procedures.
HEALTH CARE ASSISTANTAllison Lee - is a Senior Health Care Assistant, who joined us in 2004. She has been an invaluable asset to our practice and has taken various courses including smoking cessation and weight management. She performs new patient health checks, ECGs and assists in minor-ops. She also does other nursing duties.
SPECIALIST NURSEJoanne Defriez - joined our team of nurses in August 2009. She is in the final stages of training as a Nurse Practitioner and will soon have independent consulting and prescribing rights within the realms of her qualifications. She is an experienced nurse with a special interest in Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) but will be doing most chronic disease management such as Diabetes, Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease. She will be inviting you for your regular reviews.
NURSE PRACTITIONERFiona Barton - joined us in November 2009. Fiona comes with a wealth of experience having previously worked in ITU, District Nursing and The Queen Elizabeth's Foundation for Disabled People. She has been a Practice Nurse for 16 years with training in Family Planning and Chronic Disease Management including Asthma, COPD, Diabetes and Coronary Heart Disease. She is a registered Independent and Supplementary Nurse Prescriber and can deal with a variety of medical problems.
DISTRICT NURSESDistrict nurses help us in treating some patients in their own homes. The District Nurses Liaison Service can be contacted on 01268 242142. |
