Maternity care

If you already know you are pregnant/ or wish to discuss about possibility of pregnancy than please tell the receptionist who will allow extra time for your appointment. A general health check is usually performed to make sure you
are fit during your pregnancy. Also an appointment will have to be arranged with an obstetrician for the antenatal care and future confinement. You will then be contacted by phone by our practice midwife Alan Jenkins for further management such as scan appointments, blood tests and attendance to
the antenatal clinics. Antenatal clinics at our surgery are held on Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday mornings. The midwife manages 90% of all antenatal care. If any problems arise he will either discuss with the GP or an obstetrician at the hospital.
